Support the VSO | 75th Anniversary Endowment Campaign
Now is the time to celebrate the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s long history and success. It has proven its value and sustainability, not only as the nation’s oldest state-supported orchestra, but one of the finest of its size. Residents and visitors across the state share the joy of its music. Join us in building a stable future for classical music in Vermont.
The VSO reaches people not just at concert halls, but its 45 annual performances are also found in beautiful natural settings and in historic and artistic community buildings statewide. Over 175 school performances are provided annually reaching 45% of Vermont’s school children. It serves year round with outreach programs, children’s concerts, composer residencies and. It provides choral and chamber music concerts.
The orchestra celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2009/2010, and launched its first endowment campaign. Now is the right time to focus on the VSO's future. An increased endowment will protect the financial stability of this preeminent Vermont cultural activity, something that it has not had in its long history. The endowment campaign goal is $3.5 million, of which $3.1 million has been raised as of August, 2010, thanks to the generosity of many individuals and organizations.
