    FAQ: Is the VSO playing in my town this year?
    The VSO performs 50 concerts in more than 20 communities across Vermont.  For a complete schedule, click "Tickets" on the top navigation bar and explore our concert schedule. 

    FAQ: Can I get a refund if I can’t use my tickets?
    All ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.  Subscribers can easily exchange subscription tickets between Friday and Saturday night within the same weekend for the most comparable seat.  Subscribers can also donate tickets they can’t use back to the VSO for resale.  We will acknowledge your gift by letter, just like a cash contribution, provided the tickets are donated back at least three days before the performance.  If you wish to donate tickets back, please call the VSO office at (800) VSO-9293 x 10.

    FAQ: Who is the music director of the VSO?
    Jaime Laredo was named Music Director of the VSO in 1999.  He oversees all artistic programming and planning in addition to conducting and performing with the orchestra. Click here to learn about the VSO's Artistic Leadership.

    FAQ: How do I become a VSO member and what are the benefits?
    Membership is available with a gift of $50 or more.  Benefits of membership include the VSO’s quarterly newsletter and the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance to special events and concerts.     FAQ: How can I help out at concerts?
    There are many volunteer opportunities available at both at VSO concerts and behind the scenes; from ushering, to helping out in the office, to providing hospitality to musicians.  For more information, please e-mail the VSO or call (800) VSO-9293 x 10.  

    If  you particularly enjoy our Summer Festival Tour, be part of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra crew this summer and enjoy the show for free!  The VSO is always searching for friendly volunteers to assist in the production of our Summer Festival Tour.  All are welcome.  Duties include taking tickets, handing out programs, general security, parking, and much more.  These large-scale events can’t happen without your help.  Please visit our calendar pages for concert dates and then e-mail Ralph or call (800) VSO-9293 x 19.

    FAQ: Is the VSO a professional orchestra?
    The VSO is a professional orchestra.  About half the musicians are from Vermont.  The others come from all over New England and New York.  The VSO is the oldest state-supported orchestra in the United States.

    FAQ: Does the VSO have any recordings available?
    The VSO has two commercially-available releases.

    The David M. Wilson Memorial Farmers’ Night Concert DVD recorded live on January 26, 2005 at the Statehouse in Montpelier. 

    "Christmas in Vermont" CD featuring the VSO Brass Quintet with Robert De Cormier’s Counterpoint chamber chorus, released in 2007.

    FAQ: Can I hire the VSO to play at my party or wedding?

    FAQ: How can I get a VSO souvenir?
    VSO Merchandise is often available at our tour concerts, and occasionally at the Flynn Center performances.  If you would like to order some VSO souvenirs or merchandise please visit the VSO Store.
